 It was two days before Thanksgiving and I
had been suffering from the effects of cabin fever, but luckily a good
charge of adrenalin quickly took care of the malady. My dose of
adrenalin came about after my brother Angelo scooped a beautiful
two-pound rainbow trout. Sleek and muscular, this athletic fish took
off on short spirited runs, and then capped the show with an aerial
two-foot leap.

 The tides were perfect. A quick glance at the tide book indicated a big

current that would bottom out sometime in the early afternoon. We

Remarkably, just as the anchor dug in a white sturgeon that was definitely of keeper size jumped about 40 feet off the port stern of the boat.

SB 1221 - To the Senate Floor
Pending legislation, SB1221, "Mammals: use of dogs to pursue bears and
bobcats", has passed the California Senate Appropriations Committee and
will be heading to the Senate Floor soon. This will not be our last
battle, this assault on our collective outdoor heritage and traditions
is only beginning. Do not think for a minute that these animal rights
folks from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and other
anti-sportsman's groups are going to stop.
The authors of SB1221 are
State Senator Ted Lieu (District 28) and State Senator Darrell Steinberg
(District 6), sponsored by the HSUS.
